According to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), WiFi 6 (802.11ax) is the latest IEEE 802.11 Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) standard. It is the successor to the WiFi 5 (802.11ac) standard and operates in the 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz spectrums.
